A brand is more than just your logo for sure! A logo is part of your brand identity which forms a small part of your brand but a brand is the way your business is perceived by your audience, or the story that you tell to help them engage and feel an emotional connection with you.

The most important thing to remember is that your story should repeat itself, consistently across all of your marketing collateral – on and offline.

If you are struggling to define or place your brand, then your clients will too?

What should I do first?

To ensure you get the right foundations in place before you start thinking about your logo and visual identity follow our 5 helpful tips:

  1. Define your target audience: By knowing who your customers are, it’ll be much easier for you to create a brand that addresses their real needs and speaks their language.
  2. Create buyer personas: write down a list of things you know about them such as their age, occupation and interests.
  3. Research your competition: See which other companies are targeting the same market.  Write down what they do well or not so well, what they look like, where they engage their audience and how they speak to them.
  4. Establish your brand personality: Are you high end or value, edgy or comfortable, young or mature…
  5. Get your story straight: A story makes it easier for audiences to connect and relate to your brand.  Your story should include – What does your business do? How does it do it? And why?

Taking the time to understand the above will help you to build a strong brand that you and your audience will connect with.

Now you can go and get a beautifully crafted logo and visual identity.
